Zakat Request

For everything that you own there is Zakat, and Zakat of your body is fasting.
“Zakat expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakat] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler – an obligation [imposed] by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise”. – Holy Quran 9:60 The Rehabilitation and Welfare Committee seeks to distribute the Zakat, Sadaqa and Fitrah funds given in good faith to MMC by members of the community. Zakat is the obligatory giving of charity placed upon all Muslims with the means to do so. Sadaqa is the non-obligatory giving of charity a Muslim can offer at any time. Zakat-al-Fitrah is obligatory on all Muslims and must be paid annually before the end of the month of Ramadhan. We strive to offer assistance to all regardless of background or religious following. Our goal is to do our part in improving the welfare of our local community by distributing these funds in compliance with Islam and MMC Guidelines.
